KELL BROOK ADDS TWO NEW MEMBERS TO HIS TEAM
There was much speculation in the aftermath of Brook’s close decision victory over Carson Jones that he would split with his trainer, Dominic Ingle. That isn’t to be the case however and, rather than letting members of his team go, Brook has added two new members. Brook has added nutritionist David Stache, and Dave Hembrough – an expert in therapy and rehabilitation – to help him prepare for his upcoming bout against Hector Saldivia in October.
BRADLEY IS NEXT FOR PACQUAIO
According to Manny Pacquaio’s legal advisor, Franklin Gacal, the former WBO welterweight champion is set to choose a rematch with Timothy Bradley over a fourth bout against Juan Manuel Marquez. “I think it’s Bradley. There is a score to settle with Bradley,” Gacal told The Philippine Star.
JESSIE VARGAS EYES PACQUAIO FIGHT IN THE FUTURE
Welterweight contender Jessie Vargas, who recently left Mayweather Promotions to sign a lucrative deal with Top Rank, has his eyes set on fighting Manny Pacquaio in the future. “I would like a Pacquiao fight in the future, but I will fight anyone in the 147 division,” Vargas told World Boxing News.
BOB ARUM AND 50 CENT HOPEFUL OF MAKING MAYWEATHER V PACQUAIO
Top Rank’s Bob Arum and TMT’s 50 Cent are both confident that they can finally make a fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio. Arum is looking at next year as a possibility, but it remains to be seen what date given that Pacquaio will embark on a political campaign sometime next year. “I want to explore with Manny the feasibility of doing a Mayweather fight sometime next year,” Arum told Manila Standard. 50 Cent believes that he is one of the main reasons why the fight is becoming more of a reality, and even says that there has been talk between both parties. “I believe that I’m a big reason why the possibility is coming closer. We are in communications, so hopefully we can get the show going,” 50 told Power 106 Radio.
KHAN TO BEGIN PROMOTING FIGHTERS
Former light-welterweight world champion Amir Khan is set to begin promoting other fighters under his own promotional company. Khan Promotions has, so far, been solely used to promote Khan’s own fights, but he is now looking at the possibility of promoting some other fighters. “This year I’m starting up my promotion and signing up fighters. I want to promote a few upcoming fighters so keep a look out,” said Khan.
