STEVE CUNNINGHAM SIGNS TO MAIN EVENTS
Former two-time world cruiserweight champion, Steve Cunningham (24-4, 12KOs) has signed a promotional contract with Main Events, it was announced yesterday. Cunningham, who has fought for the majority of his career at cruiserweight, has decided to make the move up in weight to pursue world title glory in the heavyweight division. “Moving to heavyweight has always been a move I knew I would make at some-point. After my last fight we sat down and looked at our options…this felt like the right thing to do,” said Cunningham on his move up in weight.

DANNY GARCIA V ERIK MORALES REMATCH SET FOR OCTOBER
Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, confirmed yesterday that Garcia (24-0, 15KOs) and Morales (52-8, 36KOs) will headline an event on October 20th at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. The first fight between the pair ended with Garcia picking up a unanimous decision victory in March of this year. The event, which is being billed as ‘Brooklyn Pride’, will feature a stacked undercard with numerous fighters from in and around New York – including WBA world welterweight champion, Paulie Malignaggi (31-4, 7KOs), Peter Quillin (27-0, 20KOs), Danny Jacobs (22-1, 19KOs), Dmitry Salita (33-1-1, 17KOs) and light-middleweight prospect, Eddie Gomez (9-0, 6KOs).

ADRIEN BRONER TO RETURN IN OCTOBER
After his demolition of Vicente Escobedo former WBO world super-featherweight champion, Adrien Broner (24-0, 20KOs) will make his debut in the 135lb division in Atlantic City on October 6th. His opponent is yet to be named, but a win will most likely propel the talented young fighter towards fighting the winner of Ricky Burns v Kevin Mitchell. Heavyweight prospect, Seth Mitchell (25-0-1, 19KOs) will fight Johnathan Banks (28-1-1, 18KOs) on the card, and welterweight prospect Keith Thurman (18-0, 17KOs) could also be added to the bill.

VITALI V HAYE COULD HAPPEN NEXT YEAR – IN ENGLAND
According to Bernd Boente, manager of the Klitschko brothers, Vitali Klitschko (44-2, 40KOs) could face David Haye (26-2, 24KOs) in March 2013 in the UK.  ”Vitali meets Manuel Charr in September and then goes on the political campaign trail at the Ukraine elections, which are held in October,” said Boente. It would appear the outcome of those elections may play a part in whether or not the fight happens, but Boente isn’t ruling anything out. ”There is still a chance the fight will come, but not this year. It will probably be in England on pay-per-view next year, possibly in March.”

SAKIO BIKA WANTS TO FACE CARL FROCH
Former IBO world super-middleweight champion, Sakio Bika (30-5-2, 21KOs) is open to facing Carl Froch (29-2, 21KOs) in Nottingham later this year. Froch, who disposed of Lucian Bute to win the IBF championship is currently on the look-out for an opponent in November, and Bika is more than happy to fight in the champions hometown. “I am a fighter and I would love to win a world title in the champions backyard…An opportunity to fight him for a world title would be great. I think that the fans would like to see that happen,” Bika told worldboxingnews.
