DAVID HAYE SIGNS LONG TERM PROMOTIONAL AGREEMENT WITH MATCHROOM SPORT


Hayemaker faces Manuel Charr at the MEN Arena on June 29

David Haye has signed a long term promotional association with Matchroom Sport, which begins when he faces Manuel Charr at the MEN Arena in Manchester on June 29, live on Sky Sports.

Matchroom Sport and Hayemaker Promotions will co-promote the shows headlined by the former World Heavyweight champion, beginning with the clash with the 28 year old World title challenger Charr in Manchester.

“I’m delighted to have agreed a four-fight promotional deal with David Haye and Hayemaker,” said Eddie Hearn. “In my opinion David is the most exciting heavyweight on the planet and I’m over the moon to help bring his comeback fight against Charr to Sky Sports on June 29.”

Further details on Haye’s clash with Charr and the promotional association with Matchroom Sport and Hayemaker Promotions will be revealed at a press conference in Manchester on Wednesday.

MONDAY MUSINGS: DON’T WRITE OFF GARCIA; THE DECLINE OF MARTINEZ

The argument of not being sold on Garcia is one that does hold weight given that he has not yet faced the best in the division. On the other hand, though, the complete dismissal of a fighter who has fought just as good opposition as the other top fighters in his weight class, is somewhat mind-boggling.

Garcia’s top four fights and wins are more impressive than not.

He struggled in his first fight with Erik Morales, then inflicted punishment upon Amir Khan on way to a fourth round TKO before knocking out Morales in a rematch, also in the fourth round. His win over Judah, while many may see it as unimpressive considering the late rally from Judah in the final four rounds, did teach us something. Read more »

DAVID HAYE CONFIRMS MANUEL CHARR AS NEXT OPPONENT


HAYEEFormer WBA world heavyweight champion David Haye will go head-to-head with next opponent Manuel Charr at a press conference this Wednesday (May 1), after agreeing a deal to fight the top 10-ranked contender on June 29 in Manchester.

The much talked about heavyweight showdown will be televised live on Sky Sports and promoted as part of a new long-term relationship between Adam Booth of Hayemaker and Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport. It will mark Haye’s first appearance in the ring since knocking out domestic rival Dereck Chisora in July 2012.

Lebanon-born Charr is a former WBC world heavyweight title challenger and has won all but one of his 24 professional bouts. The 28-year-old’s sole defeat arrived at the hands of world champion Vitali Klitschko, who controversially stopped him on a cut last September. Read more »

Fight by Fight coverage of Return of The King Bill


Fight by fight coverage will be bought to you by FightHype.com at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield. Amir Khan v Julio Diaz tops the bill in Khan’ s homecoming.

So far this evening there have been wins for David Allen with a first round victory over Deyan Mihailov, Adrien Gonzalez over Marc Callaghan and Rick Godding over Bradley Pryce.

Tomasz Mazurkiewicz and Doncasters Adam Jones ended in a draw.  Terry Flannagan beat veteran American Nate Campbell to maintain his perfect professional record.

Campbell was struggling with an injury to his right hand and had to retire in the fourth with the problem.

Gary Sykes wins a unanimous decision over John Kays.

 

Haroon Khan made his professional debut and was involved in a fast pace fight. In the fourth Fidoe landed a couple of strong shots which he took he well on route to a 40-36 points victory.  Was a good solid performance where Khan shown great speed and movement.

 

Deontay Wilder in 70 seconds takes out Audlet Harrison with a big right hand then a flurry in the corner.

 

Anthony Ogogo making his professional debut in the middleweight division against Kieran Grey in a 6 round contest and closed type show in spectacular fashion in the second round with a brilliant right hand. Great start to his professional career.
